Happy Christmas Possums!
I just finished leaving cookies and juice out for Santa. It is a tradition in our house since the year when Ava was little and I talked her into leaving juice instead of milk because I didn’t have enough milk in the fridge at the time and I wasn’t sure how I was going to drink a whole glass of milk.
Cookies, I can eat.
Drink eight ounces of milk?
No!
I guess it’s right up there with the time I wrote Ava a check from the tooth fairy. I had to talk her into letting me hold on to the check for a few extra days (it couldn’t be cashed until I was paid the following week)!
I know that she probably doesn’t believe in Santa anymore. But, for some reason it is still nice and wholesome for me to think that she still does on some level. But, if she didn’t, I guess it really wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
We don’t need anymore extra crazies in the family!
I already have my hands full!
So, I am off to bed and I just wanted to wish you all and your loved ones a Happy Christmas and an equally beautiful upcoming year!
I Could Not Resist
I just purchased th
is yesterday while I was grabbing a Grande No-Foam Latte from Starbucks.
I couldn’t resist!
All the music is pure jazz. Ever single song is better than the next. And it comes with a DVD of the Christmas special!!!
Did you know that the first Peanut Special (which is the Christmas one) almost didn’t get made. So many people passed on it. They didn’t like the fact that here was a cartoon where the children had feelings and talked like adults. It was also the first time a cartoon had an entire soundtrack made up of original jazz songs. Did you also know that the song “Christmas Time is Here”, was written in a haste on the back of an envelope by the producer? He just jotted down some lyrics that rhymed in like 10 minutes.
As grown as she thinks she is, the above video with the kids dancing makes Ava laugh every single time.
Possums, I never told you this before, but I love love love watching all Charlie Brown holiday specials. It just reminds me of a simpler time, like The Waltons or Roseanne.
We should all be so lucky to act like kids from time to time.

This hilarious set, titled “My Holiday Party,” was created by ingenious man of the year, Everett Hiller. “Every year my wife and I throw a party and when I send out the photos I add famous people,” he says.

Heartbroken, Lucresia Linton decided to turn to the internet. She believes that if God gives you lemons, then you must order your very rude child to make you a pitcher of lemonade and go find an audience elsewhere!
