Possums, I just found this new blog by Naftali Stern, a NYC based designer and founder of theBohmerian blog. And I came across this lovely montage of Amy Winehouse, taken by Hedi Slimane that I have never seen before.
I hate typing Google and seeing the good AND A SHIT LOAD OF BAD pics, but I guess it all goes with the territory when you were a soul suffering with an addiction. Sorry for all the Winehouse references, but I am a sensitive soul and this is how I heal.
You should have seen Ava when Michael Jackson passed.
AND you should have seen the many charges from ITunes on my credit card!!!
It’s one thing to see a Black woman going at it with a credit card, but it is another sight to see a Black woman going at it with a credit card that don’t belong to her!!!
I was like, “Ava why can’t you be like everyone else and download them for free!!!”
I kid.
I kid.
I like the blog I found it on. It is a thinking man’s blog about art and design. Sometimes, Possums, in this day and age of excess, it is still nice to come across blogs that are mostly pics, so that the eyes can wander and the mind could rest.
I also love what he wrote about Amy:
Often when we talk about struggling stars we may criticize their behaviors and assume their overall success to be less deserving. Music in particular, its vibrations and those who channel its energy, are a reflection of the culture and people, and just as we glorify those artists who highlight our deepest fantasies and desires, remember too that they also bring to life our deepest fears and struggles. It is their own path to overcome those struggles, and since they have sacrificed their own privacy, often they must struggle harder to achieve those same goals.
Remember: criticizing anyone is the unnecessary response of feeling insecure.
Amy, I will miss you, your music, and your love!

Enjoy!

Heartbroken, Lucresia Linton decided to turn to the internet. She believes that if God gives you lemons, then you must order your very rude child to make you a pitcher of lemonade and go find an audience elsewhere!
